German Police Forced To Kill Attacker - from TRUNEWS

A known Islamic extremist was shot and killed by police in Germany after he threatened pedestrians and attacked an officer with a knife on a Berlin street.

The incident took place in Spandau, as police were called to investigate reports of a man waving a knife around.

The man managed to seriously wound a female police officer before another officer shot him.

The attacker, Rafik Mohamad Yousef was convicted seven years ago of belonging to a terrorist group linked to al-Qaeda. Berlin’s interior minister, Frank Henkel, says the motive for the man’s actions isn’t clear, but that given the man’s history, “a religious motive cannot be excluded.” Henkel saying there were indications that the attack wasn’t planned in advance.

As part of an earlier conviction, Yousef was ordered by the court to wear an electronic tag, which he removed Thursday morning.

The injured officer was reported to be in stable condition.
