Boko Haram is now the world’s deadliest terror group, according to a report by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The recently released Global Terrorism Index has indicated Boko Haram expanded in 2014 to areas outside of Nigeria and they now have cells in several African nations including Chad and Cameroon. Boko Haram was responsible for 6,644 deaths last year, and increase of 317%.
The total number of deaths as a result of terrorism is 32,658.
The other terrorist organizations listed in the report are ISIS, Al-Shabaab, Taliban and Fulani militants, a group that exists in southern Nigeria.
The report does not include the recent terror attacks in Paris. The index showed 80% of the killings were carried out in Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria.
