Dramatic Courtroom Scene as Father Leaps at Daughter’s Killer - from TRUNEWS

It was a dramatic courtroom scene in Cleveland, Ohio as an angry father leapt across a courtroom in an attempt to avenge the death of his daughter at the hands of a serial killer.

The father, Van Terry says  “I was thinking how he mutilated my child” when he leapt at serial-killer Michael Madison, during his sentencing hearing in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday.

Face to face with his daughter’s killer, Van Terry snapped…

“I don’t know if I thought about leaping, or if I thought about what have you, I just know I wanted him.”

Terry says he was in control when he entered the courtroom for serial killer Michael Madison’s sentencing. But it didn’t last long.

“I was thinking how he mutilated my child. How you cut my child. And you did all of this while my child was still alive, so you caused my baby great pain.”

Sheriff’s deputies quickly subdued Terry and Madison, who appeared unharmed. He was taken to a holding cell adjacent to the courtroom

“When he looked at me with a smile, I thought that was so disrespectful.”

Michael Madison was ultimately sentenced to death, for murdering three women, and keeping their bodies wrapped in plastic as trophies.  Van Terry’s daughter was among them.

According to Cleveland.com:

The jury that convicted East Cleveland serial killer Michael Madison began hearing evidence Thursday as it is now tasked with deciding whether to recommend his execution.

The jury will hear from three psychologists who will describe how Madison’s troubled childhood influenced his killing of three young women, part of a mitigation phase where Madison’s defense attorneys try to convince a jury not to recommend a death sentence.
