The shooter who killed 13 at an Oregon Community College was specifically targeting Christians.
A woman whose grandmother was in one of the room where people were executed at point blank range by the gunman said that he would make people stand up and say if they were Christian.
“The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian,” she wrote. “If they said yes, then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs. My grandma just got to my house, and she was in the room. She wasn’t shot, but she is very upset.”
Another student in that class, 18-year-old Kortney Moore, told the Roseburg News-Review that she saw her teacher shot in the head. The gunman then began asking people if they were Christians, and if they said yes, were immediately shot in the head.
The FBI is now reportedly on the scene working the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Police did confirm an anonymous message was placed on the risque internet forum 4chan that seemed to allude to today’s events.
“”Some of you guys are alright. Don’t go to school tomorrow if you are in the northwest,” the message read. Police are reportedly tracking down the location and user who posted the message.
Update 9:51 p.m.: Multiple sources are claiming the shooter is Chris Harper Mercer, who was not a student at the college. He had social media profiles that said he was “no fan of organized religion.”
