Pro-life activist Troy Newman has been detained by Australian immigration authorities and is in the process of being deported due to a group of extreme pro-abortionists in the Australian government demanding the nation revoke his visa.
Newman was scheduled to do a 10 day speaking tour for Australia Right to Life. His visa, which had been approved two months ago, was revoked while he was on a plane to Denver after extremist member of the Australian parliament Terri Butler made false claims that Newman endorsed the killing of abortion providers.
Newman does not endorse violence and has actively campaigned against violent actions by pro-life advocates.
“The pro-abortion bullies in Australia who have been slandering Troy Newman to the government have had to stoop to the lowest of lows to silence his message about Planned Parenthood’s criminality and his use of peaceful, law-abiding activism to expose abortion abuses,” said Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue. “Now that they have told so may lies about him, they must make sure he is deported lest their shame be exposed to the people of Australia.”
Newman’s wife Mellissa was permitted to enter the country because her visa was still active but Australia is not permitting her to have her luggage or personal effects.
