Muslim Youths Attack Police at East Jerusalem Mosque - from TRUNEWS

For the second straight day, Palestinian youths threw rocks and other projectiles at Israeli police in the area surrounding the al-Aqsa mosque in East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian youth were attempting to harass the far-right orthodox Jews who were visiting the site in a celebration of Rosh Hashanah.  The location is considered very holy to both Jews and Muslims, and Muslims have been claiming for years that the far-right Jews plan to build a synagogue on the site despite repeated denials by the Israeli government.

“As the police entered the compound, masked youths fled inside the mosque and threw stones at the force,” Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told reporters.

“Police officers entered the area, I am talking about the Temple Mount area only, and shut the front doors of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent those riots from overflowing onto the Temple Mount area.

“Our police units took the situation under control from 20 to 25 minutes only using stun grenades, non-lethal weapons only to make sure that situation remained calm.”

At least nine arrests were made by police.

The Palestinian Murabitat and Murabitun “sentinel” groups ave been monitoring the Jews who visit the site under police guard.  The Jews are permitted on the site for five days each week but are prohibited from praying aloud on the site.  The Israeli government says the Muslims have been harassing the Jews who visit including the throwing of rocks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would “use any means to maintain the status quo and the rule of law on the Temple Mount”.  Emergency talks concerning the outbreak of violence on the site is being called for Tuesday night.

Israeli officials also confirmed the capture of a weapons cache in Palestinian areas near the site of the mosque.  The weapons included a significant number of pipe bombs.

Palestinian officials were quick to condemn the Israeli police.

“The presidency strongly condemns the attack by the occupier’s military and police against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the aggression against the faithful who were there,” a statement from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ office read.

Partial solar eclipse blocks out the sun, as stargazers get ready for blood moon and supermoon - from TRUNEWS

A partial solar eclipse has blocked out the sun, the first part of a month of stunning astronomical events.

The second solar eclipse of the year happened this morning, leaving stunning views over southern Africa and Antarctica.

But it is likely to be eclipsed itself by a rare astronomical event at the end of the month – a so-called supermoon where it will appear far bigger than usual, and a lunar eclipse that will mean that it is blocked out. The events are set to be so spectacular that some online have even taken to claiming they signal the end of the world.

The solar eclipse was only visible in the sky to those in the southern part of Africa – including people in South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Madagascar – and in Antarctica. But livestreams and photos allowed anyone to tune into the eclipse as it happened, and stunning pictures have been shared after the event.

California’s Killer Bees Are Spreading North - from TRUNEWS

Bad news for apiphobes: “Killer” bees are on the move in theUnited States.

Scientists from the University of California, San Diego recently collected hundreds of bees around the Golden State to determine how far north hybrid honeybees, or Africanized bees, have spread since they first arrived in the state in 1994.

They found that Africanized bees — which possess genes from both European and African honeybees — now live as far north as California’s delta region (about 25 miles, or 40 kilometers, south of Sacramento). And in the southern part of the state, so-called “killer” bees run the show. About 65 percent of the honeybeesthat buzz around San Diego County have a mix of European and African genes, the researchers found.

“The pattern of Africanization we documented in San Diego County and elsewhere in California appears consistent with patterns previously documented in Texas, where Africanized honey bees first appeared in the United States,” Joshua Kohn, a professor of biology at UC San Diego and co-author of the new study, said in a statement.

Official: Explosive California wildfire “creating own weather” - from TRUNEWS

A voracious wildfire has overtaken several Northern California towns, killing at least one person and destroying more than 400 homes and businesses, according to authorities.

A California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokeswoman confirmed the death Sunday evening as firefighters continue to battle the out-of-control blaze north of San Francisco in Lake County.

Lynn Valentine said officials had no immediate information on the deceased.

She said the fire had destroyed 400 homes, two apartment complexes and 10 businesses. Most of the destruction occurred in the communities of Middletown and Hidden Valley Lake, as well as homes along a shuttered highway.

The fire broke out Saturday afternoon and exploded in size within hours. It has burned 78 square miles.

Mark Ghilarducci, California’s emergency chief, says this summer’s fires are the most volatile he has seen in 30 years of emergency response work. He says the main cause behind the fast-spreading fires is dry conditions from the four-year drought.

Denmark’s military command says two Danish fighters jets were scrambled to intercept two Russian military planes flying near the country’s airspace over the Baltic Sea.

Putin’s offer to shield & develop Israel’s gas fields predated Russia’s military buildup in Syria - from TRUNEWS

More than a fortnight ago, Russian President Vladimir put a proposition to Israel for Moscow to undertake responsibility for guarding Israel’s Mediterranean gas fields, along with the offer of a Russian investment of $7-10 billion for developing Leviathan, the largest well, and building a pipeline to Turkey for exporting the gas to Europe, debkafile reports. The offer was made to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in confidential phone conversations and through quiet envoys.
At the time, Putin did not share with Netanyahu his plans for an imminent buildup of marines, air force units, warships and missiles in Syria, although the plan had been worked out in detail with Tehran in late July. The Russian ruler put it this way: Leviathan abuts on the fringes of Lebanon’s economic water zone and is therefore vulnerable to potential sabotage by Iran, Syria or Hizballah, whether by commando or rocket attack.

A multibillion Russian investment in the field would make it a Russian project which neither Syria nor Hizballah would dare attack, even though it belongs to Israel.

But now the situation has assumed a different face. Russian forces are streaming to Latakia, and Moscow has declared the area from Tartous, Syria up to Cyprus closed to shipping and air traffic from Sept. 15 to Oct. 7 in view of a “military exercise including test firings of guided missiles” from Russian warships.

Could a coup really happen in the United States? - from TRUNEWS

43% of Republicans could imagine supporting a military coup in the United States

A law professor at West Point was forced to hastily resign after it emerged that he had authored a number of controversial articles. In one he suggested that legal scholars defending the rights of suspected terrorists could be considered legitimate military targets, while in another he examined a potential military coup in the United States, arguing that officers may have a duty to sieze control of the federal government if the federal government acted against the interest of the country. The United States military has long embraced the idea of civilian control of national affairs, and apart from certain rare moments the American officer corps has faithfully followed the orders of their civilian superiors.

Congressman: U.S. has ‘disrupted’ a threat before Pope Francis’s visit - from TRUNEWS

American authorities are “monitoring very closely” any potential threats against Pope Francis and have already “disrupted one particular case” ahead of the pope’s visit to the United States, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

Rep. McCaul (R-Tex.), when asked how he felt about security preparations ahead of the papal visit next week, said he was “concerned” and has been briefed by the Secret Service on the matter.

“The pope is a very — I’m Catholic, by the way — he is a very passionate man,” McCaul said. “He likes to get out with the people. And with that comes a large security risk.”

The pope’s upcoming trip to the United States has prompted a massive security operation in the three cities he will visit — New York, Washington and Philadelphia. In Washington, several major roadways will close for long periods during the three days that Francis is in town, and District officials are urging anyone who can to telecommute for the duration.

IS hackers targeted email accounts of top UK ministers: Report - from TRUNEWS

British intelligence has uncovered a sophisticated espionage operation of the Islamic State in which jihadists targeted email accounts of top ministers, including the home secretary, according to a media report.

An investigation by government communications headquarters (GCHQ) has discovered that extremists linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have been targeting information held by some of Prime Minister David Cameron’s most senior ministers, including Theresa May, The Telegraph reported.

At least one of the plot’s ringleaders was killed by a drone strike in an operation disclosed by Cameron last week.

By hacking into the private offices of senior ministers, the extremists could have discovered events that government figures and members of the Royal family were expected to attend.

The recent cyber threat first emerged in a warning to Whitehall security officials in May and it is understood that the plans to attack Britain were exposed by the GCHQ investigation, the report said.

It is unclear what information the extremists were able to access, but it is understood that no security breaches occurred, it said.

However, officials were told to tighten security procedures, including changing passwords, the report said.

Refugee crisis deepens as Germany stops all trains from Austria and introduces temporary border controls - from TRUNEWS

Germany re-imposed border controls on Sunday after Europe’s most powerful nation acknowledged it could scarcely cope with thousands of asylum seekers arriving every day.

Germany and Austria agreed over a week ago to let in migrants who had gathered in Hungary, saying it was a one-time measure to ease an emergency.

But the refugees keep coming and German officials have said over the weekend that the speed of the arrivals was straining the country’s ability to provide accommodation.

German officials have stopped train traffic to and from Austria for 13 hours. A spokesman for Austrian Federal Railways said the ban was due to last from 5pm today until 6am on Monday.

“The aim of these measures is to limit the current inflows to Germany and to return to orderly procedures when people enter the country,” said Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere, adding that this was also necessary for security reasons.

Sky Finds ‘Handbook’ For EU-Bound Migrants - from TRUNEWS

Refugees heading to Greece on people smugglers’ boats are given a ‘migrants handbook’ packed with tips, maps, phone numbers and advice about getting across Europe.

Among discarded life jackets and punctured rubber dinghies, Sky News discovered a tattered copy of the unique travel guide washed up on a beach on the Greek island of Lesbos.

The booklet’s cover features a photograph of a young man on a beach at sunset, looking longingly out to sea, with oars at his feet as he prepares to make the treacherous crossing.

The ‘rough guide’ is written in Arabic and contains phone numbers of organizations which might help refugees making the journey, such as the Red Cross and UNHCR.

Among those behind the booklet is an organization called w2eu, which means ‘Welcome To Europe’.

Get ready for tougher ID to travel by air - from TRUNEWS

If you don’t have an Enhanced Driver’s License or passport, and plan to travel by air next year later, you will have to get one of those documents before you can take off.

It’s all about Homeland Security, and New York’s standard driver’s license might not cut it, when those new regulations take effect.

The law known as the REAL ID Act is designed to protect federal facilities from terrorist attacks, and it narrows acceptable forms of identification down to those with security features like the safeguards in your passport.

REAL ID became law in 2005, but its provisions have been phased in over a 10-year period.

For the rest of 2015, you can still use your driver’s license as identification on flights within the United States, but sometime next year, Homeland Security is set to change that…

WWIII Rumors As Alleged U.S.-China Covert War Escalates: Zhejiang Blast U.S. Retaliatory Strike After Tokyo Attack - from TRUNEWS

Following reports of a fourth industrial explosion that occurred at a chemical plant in the Zhejiang province of China on Monday, conspiracy theorists have stepped up claims that the U.S. and China are embroiled in a secret war, sparked off by a Pentagon “kinetic energy weapon” strike that allegedly caused the August Tianjin explosion, in which more than 160 people have died.

Reuters reports that according to the Chinese state media, an explosion ripped through a chemical plant in Lishui city, Zhejiang Province on Monday, September 7, shortly after midnight.

Witnesses reported that the blast caused thick smoke and flames that rose up in the air about 100 meters, and a fire that raged “fiercely.”

According to rumors making the rounds in the conspiracy theory blogosphere, the latest industrial explosion in China represents a dangerous escalation of the ongoing covert war between the U.S. and China, and unknown to millions, World War III may have begun already.

The Inquisitr reported on August 18 that, after the first major industrial explosion that occurred at a chemical plant in Tianjin, China, conspiracy theory blogs claimed that dissident sources within China said the Chinese authorities had evidence the U.S. was behind the deadly twin blasts that devastated a large area of the busy Tianjin port, killing more than 100 people.

Homeschool parents sue New Jersey, allege ‘unlawful, unconstitutional home intrusion’ - from TRUNEWS

Nothing really changed after a New Jersey state social worker banged on Christopher and Nicole Zimmer’s front door, and yet everything was different.

Over the next two hours, the social worker quizzed their 15-year-old son, Chris, including questions on whether his parents fought or did drugs. She wanted to see his homeschool curriculum. She wanted to inspect their firearms. She told the Zimmers to sign papers agreeing to turn over their son’s medical records.

And then she left, and the Zimmers never saw her again. But they can’t let it go. They can’t erase the memory of what it felt like when they thought the state might take away their son.

In April the Zimmers filed a $60 million federal lawsuit against the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency, along with several division officials and the social worker, Michelle Marchese, for an “unlawful and unconstitutional home intrusion.”

Army Special Forces enraged over Obama attacks - from TRUNEWS

Rules of engagement that risk the lives of U.S. forces and harsh punishments over questionable charges have America’s elite Green Berets fuming at the Obama administration, and the former commander of all Green Berets says it’s just the latest symptoms of a military deliberately weakened by this administration and military officials more concerned about advancement than the good of their forces and their nation.

The litany of Green Beret frustration was detailed this week by the Washington Times. The piece detailed several questionable punishments for elite service members over incidents that never resulted in formal charges.

Army Secretary John McHugh stripped Maj. Matt Golsteyn of a Silver Star for killing a Taliban bomb maker who took many U.S. lives. McHugh contends there is probable cause to believe Golsteyn committed murder, even though Golsteyn was cleared by the military.

Lt. Col. Jason Amerine shared his concerns about a flawed hostage rescue program with Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. When the FBI looked into it, officials there reported Amerine to the Army, which opened a criminal investigation on Amerine because it suspected he transmitted classified information. No evidence was ever found to support such a charge.

Three Nazi gold treasure trains could be hidden in secret network of Polish tunnels says explorer - from TRUNEWS

Three suspected Nazi ‘gold trains’ could be hidden in a secret network of tunnels in Poland.

It was believed a single train laden with millions of pounds worth of bullion had been discovered – but now historian Krzysztof Szpakowkski says the discovery may be far more significant.

He claims three Nazi trains disappeared soon after leaving Wroclaw during the closing stages of WW2, stating they were deliberately hidden by the Germans to avoid capture by the advancing Russian Red Army.

Artefacts from ancient Egyptian cities preserved for thousands of years at the bottom of the Mediterranean sea have gone on display at an exhibition in Paris.

The exhibit at the Arab World Institute in the French capital features 250 artifacts from a pair of ancient cities discovered 15 years ago.

It took seven years of underwater excavation to retrieve the artifacts, from a 40 square mile area of the Mediterranean Sea near Alexandria, Egypt.

The objects – covered in sediment – and partially protected by the sea, date back 2,800 years.

Merkel ‘expects Cameron to back EU army’ in exchange for renegotiation - from TRUNEWS

Angela Merkel will expect David Cameron to drop his opposition to an EU army in exchange for supporting Britain’s renegotiation, the Telegraph has been told.

The German chancellor will ask Britain to stand aside as she promotes an ambitious blueprint to integrate continental Europe’s armed forces.

It comes as Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, said Britain will get a deal if it gives the green light to a raft of powerful new EU institutions..

A Berlin source said agreeing not to “block” Mrs Merkel’s defense plans is a “favor” that she would seek from Mr Cameron as he looks for her support in the renegotiation.

“If you want favors, you have to give favors,” the source said.

“If Cameron wants a ‘flexible Europe’, he must let other members integrate further. Yes – opt out, opt out, opt out – and then shut up.”

While there is no expectation or obligation for Britain to take part in steeper integration, the creation of an EU army could marginalize Britain within NATO and result in the United States downgrading the special relationship with Britain in favor of Paris and Berlin, experts warn.

While Mr Cameron backs tighter Eurozone integration, he faces a dilemma over whether the risk of a diminished strategic position is a price worth paying in his renegotiation.
