UK food shortages predicted as drivers refuse to ship goods past ‘violent’ Calais migrants - from TRUNEWS

In a dire warning today a leading haulage group said more and more freight carriers consider passing through the French port town too dangerous and are preparing to pull the plug on supplying Britain altogether.

Large parts of Calais are in the grip of almost perpetual violence and turf wars as gangs of migrants battle in the street over access to the best routes across the English Channel.

Lorry drivers at many European haulage companies are so terrified of passing through the notorious port that many are now refusing to run the route to Britain.

A leading haulage expert told express.co.uk that the situation was so serious that shortages in the shops and rocketing prices for imported goods including fruit and vegetables were almost guaranteed.
