A possible sink hole measuring about 30 feet deep opened Thursday in Citrus County, swallowing a truck.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office says the sinkhole opened at a home in Pine Ridge off West Brecken Ridge Court. Initial reports indicate it opened while a well was being drilled at the home.
Nobody was injured when the hole opened.
“Looked like Mother Nature was hungry and she was in the mood for truck,” said Keith Mannion, the homeowner.
According to Mannion, the workers were there trying to drill him a new water well. He says his old well stopped working and his family has been without water for a week.
When the workers contacted him around 1 p.m., he thought they were calling with good news, that water was restored. They weren’t.
The company did bring out 1,000 gallons of water in a truck for the family to use.
