Hillary Clinton apparently sent her daughter Chelsea an email on September 11th, 2012, in which she said “an al-Qaeda-like group” (sic) was responsible for the terrorist attacks in Benghazi.
The email was revealed by Ohio Representative Jim Jordan during Clinton’s testimony to the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
The email clearly demonstrates Clinton knew the attacks that left four Americans dead were carried out by terrorists, yet she and others in the Obama White House were already spinning the tale that the attack was spontaneous and motivated by a YouTube video that many Muslims found offensive.
Clinton’s email said, “Two of our officers were killed in Benghazi by an Al Queda-like [sic] group.”
Shortly after the attacks that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and 3 others, Clinton said, “Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted to the Internet.”
The YouTube explanation used for days by the Obama administration; critics of the way the White House handled the attack say Obama was taking political cover ahead of his re-election bid, having been on the campaign trail saying he had destroyed Al-Qaida.
