Gov. Rick Scott: “Even in Our Darkest Days, God Will Show up” - from TRUNEWS

(Trunews) – Kicking off what turned into a truly inspirational day of worship and mass-repentance before the Lord, Florida Governor Rick Scott shared some powerful words of encouragement and affirmation, when he took to the stage early Saturday morning at The Response USA, in Orlando, Florida, and proclaimed, “even in our darkest days, God will show up.”

And show up He did. The same sentiment transcended loud and clear through a diverse line-up of  speakers, representing many different Christian churches and cultures from around the world. The five-and-a-half hours of worship, teaching & prayer at the Orlando Convention Center, served as a united effort of denominations to call American Christians to action, as our nation continues to slide into moral decline.

The Response USA was organized by Doug Stringer, who joined Rick Wiles recently on Trunews to discuss his motivation behind hosting this gathering, and the national necessity for such a movement.  While turning a blind eye to the butchering and wholesale of baby parts for profit through Planned Parenthood, or the Supreme Court’s historic re-definition of biblical marriage earlier this year, America has jumped head first into a path of sin and disobedience to God he noted.

Doug, like many God-fearing leaders in today’s church body, says that sitting back and watching this decay as a spectator, is in itself an abomination to our Father. Instead, he opted to attack the disease head on, with the weapons of prayer and praise, which God has armed all His children with here on  earth

Jesus himself spoke on the power of prayer in the Gospel of Matthew saying, “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:20).  And in Luke’s Gospel Jesus said, “so I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9)

On days like Saturday, where thousands experienced the glory of prayer united across race, culture, and creed for a righteous cause, Christians around the world are reminded that the light of Christ will never be overcome by darkness when we put our faith in the power of the one true God.  The Apostle Paul told us to, “put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” (Eph. 6:13)
