Genealogy service Ancestry has conducted an investigation into the 1912 Titanic sinking and allege Freemason involvement in the British probe of the disaster.
Ancestry is set to release the information which shows several Freemasons involved in the investigation, accident and building of the ship were exonerated. The judge responsible for overseeing the British probe, Lord Mersey, was a member, as well as two of the investigation’s expert assessors and the chairman of the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, which built the Titanic.
Ship’s Captain Edward Smith was found not to be at fault on the assertion that many ships sped through the ice without incident.
The U.S. Senate had found the British Board of Trade was responsible for the incident, due to unenforced regulations that allowed the ship to sail without an adequate number of lifeboats. But the British investigation found the Board of Trade, who approved the ship, was not responsible.
