Former Australian PM to give pro-family speech in U.S. - from TRUNEWS

(TRUNEWS) The former Australian Prime Minister will head to the U.S. Tuesday to speak about the importance of family and pro-family values.

Tony Abbott will give an address at a private event in New York at the invitation of Alliance Defending Freedom,  according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

About 150 UN ambassadors and diplomats will be in attendance.

The goal of the conference is to motivate leaders to defend Christian values, as the Republican primary season gets underway, and the candidates try to court Christian “Tea Party” members.

For Abbott, the speech will highlight his differences with the new Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, who is in favor of gay marriage.  Recently, Turnbull held talks with candidate Marco Rubio.

ADF believes in the traditional definition of marriage, as between one man and one woman, and that strong families are key to a healthy society.
