Judge slams Obama Administration over Clinton emails - from TRUNEWS

(TRUNEWS) A federal judge has slammed the Obama Administration over Hillary Clinton’s email scandal from when she was Secretary of State.

Judge Emmet G. Sullivan called the situation “troubling” and said he may issue a subpoena to force her to turn over her entire email account, according to The Washington Times.  For the time being, he has granted a limited discovery to Judicial Watch, who has sued to see the emails.

The group wants to know who approved Clinton’s use of a personal email and server.  They are also seeking answers about how Clinton decided which emails were classified.

Justice Department lawyer Steven Myers, who is handling the case for the government told Judge Sullivan the State Department has done “everything it can do” to get all the records.

So far 32,000 emails have been turned over to the State Department, but Clinton’s attorneys have refused to turn over correspondence they determined to be private.

Judicial watch argues the messages are not private now that Clinton is out of government.

The judge seemed concerned about how the State Department could have allowed this to happen.

“We’re talking about a Cabinet-level official who was accommodated by the government, for reasons unknown,” he said. “This is about the public’s right to know.”

The FBI is also investigating the issue.
