Amerigeddon: Grid-down EMP scenario goes mainstream - from TRUNEWS

(TRUNEWS) The idea of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack disabling the U.S. energy grid has now gone mainstream.

A slide leaked to the Washington Examiner from a U.S. Air Force briefing show the military is now taking the threat very seriously.

Titled: “Our grids have become vulnerable”, the slide cataloged a spread of the potential threats including aging infrastructure, determined adversaries and severe natural disasters.

These warnings echo the efforts of Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, the Executive Director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security and Director of the U.S. Nuclear Strategy Forum, who has been raising concerns about the potential threat North Korea, Iran, China, and Russia pose to the U.S. through EMP weaponry.

At the end of February, Dr. Pry wrote a report for the Gatestone Institute International Policy Council — a New York City-based think-tank  — detailing that there is overwhelming evidence that North Korea not only already has nuclear-armed missiles but could strike the U.S. mainland. He also stated that he believes North Korea has already tested a Super-EMP weapon capable of disabling the U.S. Energy grid.

Today, South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that North Korea fired a short-range missile

In Tuesday’s incident, the projectile was fired from the coastal city of Wonsan and traveled more than 120 miles before hitting land, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported, citing the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.

North Korea fired a projectile believed to be a short-range missile Tuesday, the nation’s latest rebuke of sanctions and military exercises being conducted by the United States and South Korea.

NATURAL EMP

Aside from a physical EMP attack, NASA estimates that there is a 12 percent chance a naturally occurring solar superstorm could disable the U.S. power grid.

In an article titled “Near Miss: The Solar Superstorm of July 2012”, NASA published a review of a paper written by physicist Pete Riley detailing the effects and likelihood of a “Carrington-class”  space storm hitting Earth in the next ten years.

AMERIGEDDON EMP

This very scenario is the theme of a new movie directed by Mike Norris called “Amerigeddon,” set to be released in theaters May 13. In the movie, America has been crippled by a false flag EMP strike and martial law has been implemented across the country. The U.S. Government, in conjunction with United Nations, planned the strike as a way to abolish constitutional rights and confiscate guns. Though despotic, the movie promises to portray a very factually based argument for why every American must understand the threat of government overreach and EMP vulnerabilities.

“We were just trying to get a message across that we feel the government is overreaching its authority; Obama is ruling from the bench, our rights are being infringed on a daily basis,” Norris told WND in an interview regarding the movie. “But it wasn’t until the movie’s done, we’re finished and getting ready to put it out that it just kind of all fell into place and just became very timely with what’s happening in the world. So, really, it was kind of on accident that this film is coming out at this time in our country.”

AFTERMATH OF AN EMP

Michael Synder, the publisher of the Economic Collapse Blog, pointedly noted in his 2013 article titled “What Are You Going To Do When A Massive EMP Blast Fries The U.S. Electrical Grid?” that for most Americans there would no longer be:

  • Heat for homes
  • Running water
  • Computers
  • Internet
  • Phones
  • Television
  • Radio
  • ATM machines
  • Banking
  • Debit and credit cards
  • Gas stations
  • Employment due to electricity outages
  • Active commerce
  • Hospitals
  • Medicine supplies
  • Refrigeration
  • Grocery stores and supermarkets
