(TRUNEWS) A major winter snow storm is expected in the eastern third of the U.S. Friday. Winter storm Jonas will move from eastern Arkansas, through the Ohio Valley, into the Baltimore/Washington area. The snow totals could reach two feet or more feet in the nation’s capitol, before moving up into New England. Overall, 15 states and over 73 million people will be are affected by the storm, which will produce heavy rains or a wintry mix in some areas.

Slippery roads and white out conditions are expected to effect traffic. There could be power outages and building damage from the strong winds. Coastal flooding is also an issue. Officials in these states have called on emergency crews to handle problems and treat the roads.
