(TRUNEWS) In the latest in a series of troubling outbursts from mormon radio pundit Glenn Beck, Tuesday he accused evangelical christians of ‘not listening to their God’ when they vote for Donald Trump.
“Utah has an incredible opportunity. So many Christians have been standing up. But all throughout the South the Evangelicals are not listening to their God. Let us raise a standard in Utah,” Beck said during a speech in Utah.
Beck’s latest statement came on the heels of his invoking this last weekend of a disputed mormon folk tale referred to as the “White Horse Prophecy”, as he attempted to rouse support for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
“It’s something that Utah needs to hear,” Beck said. “The body of the Priesthood is known to stand up when the Constitution hangs by a thread. I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2000. What attracted me was not only the truth of the message, but also the people like President [Harold] Lee and President [Ezra Taft] Benson, who knew exactly who we were, knew who we were as a country. Many times, what held me through was the prophecy that the Constitution will hang by a thread and this people would remember what our founders did. It is our responsibility to stand for the Constitution!”
Beck echoed the mormon propaganda and clarified his religious affiliation with the LDS, while campaigning for Cruz in Provo.
“I believe the Book of Mormon,” Beck said. “I believe it to be true. I believe every word of it … That book spells out in great detail what things look like before the Lord comes back. And He gave us that book so we can protect freedom here. He also gave us that book so we would know what to do at the time. Now you either believe that or you don’t. You either believe that to be true, it’s not just a book; then let the Priesthood lead! Priesthood holders, stand up and take your staff! You are the guardian at the gate.”
The “White Horse Prophecy” was first introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by their founder Joseph Smith in 1843, who declared that one day, when the U.S. Constitution was hanging by a thread, the Mormon people would rise up and save America.
In 1854, Brigham Young, a former president of the LDS, reportedly expanded on Smith’s prediction, saying “will the Constitution be destroyed? No; it will be held inviolate by this people; and, as Joseph Smith said, The time will come when the destiny of the nation will hang upon a single thread. At that critical juncture, this people will step forth and save it from the threatened destruction.”
In 2010, the LDS issued an official statement saying that “the so-called ‘White Horse Prophecy’ is based on accounts that have not been substantiated by historical research and is not embraced as Church doctrine”
Its important to note that mormonism is doctrinally different than Christianity. Mormonism rejects the central logic of a Trinity, and touts that there are many gods, that we are what God once was and are becoming what He now is. Though mormonism borrows Christian themes, personalities, and narratives it nevertheless rejects what orthodox Christianity affirms and it affirms what orthodox Christianity rejects.
In the book of 1st John, Chapter 4, verse 3, we are Christians are taught that “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” Therefore it is fair to conclude that Glenn Beck is supporting a doctrine of the anti-christ.
Rick Wiles of TRUNEWS said previously that Glenn Beck was “exhibiting signs of emotional instability” after he openly expressed his desire to stab Donald Trump repeatedly on March 4th from his live show at CPAC. Beck has since compared Trump to Adolf Hitler, and has disavowed any outlets providing favorable coverage to Trump or criticizing Cruz and the GOP as being media shills.
