Trump and world leaders respond to Brussels attack - from TRUNEWS

While Americans wait for a response from President Obama regarding the terror attacks in Brussels, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump quickly offered comments.

“I would close up our borders,” he told Fox News. “We are lax and we are foolish.”

Trump pointed out that not too long ago Brussels and Paris were basically crime-free.

“They see what’s happened and yet they allow it to continue to happen,” he said, referring to leaders in Europe who allow mass migration, despite an increase in crime.

Another GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz said that when he is elected he will “name” the evil.

“We will name our enemy – radical Islamic terrorism,” he said.

Other world officials have also reacted. French President Francois Hollande said the attacks struck at “the whole of Europe”.

France has deployed about 1,600 police to Belgium. Germany and the Netherlands have stepped up security at their borders. Security has been tightened around nuclear power plants, according to AFP.

Last Friday one of the suspects in the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam was arrested in Brussels, which some officials believe may have sparked Tuesday’s bombings. Some other members of the terror cell may have feared Abdeslam would reveal information to authorities.

Others speculate the terrorists may have wanted to send a message that they are still operating, according to The Guardian.

“What we feared has happened,” said Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel during a press conference.
