GOP presidential contender Donald Trump is slamming Muslims for hiding the Brussels terrorists. He was the first to speak out Tuesday after the terror attacks in Brussels, hours before President Obama.
“I would close up our borders,” he told Fox News. “We are lax and we are foolish.”
Trump pointed out that not too long ago Brussels and Paris were basically crime-free, as reported by TRUNEWS. Now, Trump is questioning why the citizens of Brussels did not report the suspects to authorities, calling it a “disgrace”.
According to The Express, Trump was interviewed by Piers Morgan Wednesday and made the comments.
Trump also expressed outrage no one reported Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam to authorities. He was captured Friday, more than four months after the bombing, in the neighborhood where he grew up. Abdeslam was connected to the Brussels bombers.
“Everybody knew he was there and no one turned him in,” he said.
Trump reiterated his tough stand regarding immigration and ISIS. He said that he doesn’t want Syrians coming to the U.S.
“I don’t mind building a safe zone in Syria but we can’t bring anyone who might be related to ISIS,” he said, claiming his beliefs are “just common sense”.
One of his arguments is that the asylum seekers from the Middle East don’t assimilate.
He also vowed to take out ISIS
“I would hit them very hard and very fast,” Trump said.
Another GOP presidential candidate, Ted Cruz spoke out about the Brussels attacks. He said police must “secure” Muslim neighborhoods in the U.S., according to BBC.
He lashed out at President Obama for failing to deal with the issue of radical Islam. The President was in Cuba during the Brussels attacks and spoke out for 52 seconds about the massacre. Then he went to a baseball game with officials from the Cuban government and did “the wave”.
