(TRUNEWS) Head Pastor of Atlanta based Elijah House, Adonis Alston, says the Lord reignited his passion for ministry after finding a ‘Fire Vision’ brand baseball bat in the sanctuary of a church at the same time he listening to Brad Medd’s prophetic ‘get out of the dug out’ message on TRUNEWS.
Pastor Alston’s statements were made during an exclusive interview with Rick Wiles of TRUNEWS on Friday, while discussing the journey he and his wife Danika have experienced starting their own ministry and enduring the spiritual warfare which accompanies this service to Christ.
This heart warming story transpired at 3 AM on Saturday April 30th while Pastor Alston, who aside from pastoring his ministry runs a commercial cleaning company, was cleaning a local church. Adonis, being a huge fan of TRUNEWS, decided to catch up on the previous days show while he was completing his sweep of the sanctuary. On the April 29th edition of TRUNEWS, Rick Wiles interviewed long time ministry partner Brad Medd to share a prophetic analogy the Lord had placed on his heart. The message was a baseball themed call to action for Christians, who Brad said are currently stuck in the dug out when they should be getting into the game. While Brad spoke about movement, Pastor Alston was walking up the isle and toward the churches sanctuary. At the part when Brad said “what have you done with the baseball bat God put into your hand?”, Pastor Alston was cleaning around the sound booth, pulled a chair out, and simultaneously looking down saw a baseball bat laying on the floor.
On the side of the bat “Fire Vision” was written, which Pastor Alston explained held a unique connection to a key component of the prophetic dream which prompted him to start his ministry. In his dream he was standing in an empty room saying “there’s no way I can do this”, then the Lord loudly proclaimed “I can do this” and transformed the room into a church. Pastor Alston then saw himself on fire — but not burning —preaching to a congregation, spreading the flame person to person until the entire room was consumed by the fire of the holy spirit.
In a state of shock, Pastor Alston said he immediately realized this was a God moment, and took a pause to reflect on what the Lord was doing. Sharing a deeper understanding of that moment, Pastor Alston told Pastor Wiles that over recent months he had been enamored by debilitating bouts of deep depression, discouragement, and spiritual warfare. But in that special moment he felt the Lord prophetically speaking to him, covering him in his overwhelming love, bringing him out of that ‘natural funk’, and encouraging him to redouble his efforts.
At the time Pastor Alston was so overwhelmed emotionally that he didn’t physically pick up the bat, but spiritually his wife Danika said, he was a changed man.
Pastor Wiles said Jesus had personally autographed that bat, noting that the thing he loves about the Lord is that this life is His game, and we, His sons and daughters, are on His team. On His baseball field, God as the almighty umpire has made it impossible for his children to ever strike out. The Lord has made it impossible to fail if we sincerely seek to please Him. No matter the amount of mistakes, how many times we may fall down, in the end his believers will always win.
