(TRUNEWS) Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has released the names of 11 potential judges he would consider nominating for Antonin Scalia’s vacant Supreme Court seat.
AP reports that the move was unusual, but could be aimed at suppressing conservative fears that he would choose a judge not in line with conservative philosophies.
Full list:
- Steven Colloton of Iowa
- Allison Eid of Colorado
- Raymond Gruender of Missouri
- Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania
- Raymond Kethledge of Michigan
- Joan Larsen of Michigan
- Thomas Lee of Utah
- William Pryor of Alabama
- David Stras of Minnesota
- Diane Sykes of Wisconsin
- Don Willett of Texas
TRUNEWS will provide further updates on Trump’s Supreme Court picks as more information becomes available.
Trump has previously urged the US Senate to delay voting on President Obama’s liberal nominee, Judge Merrick B. Garland, who has a documented history of anti-gun rulings and was associated with the Oklahoma City bombing.
After the mysterious death of Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia in February, Donald Trump named judges Diane Sykes and William Pryor as his top picks to replace the conservative swing vote on the now heavily liberal Supreme Court.
