People look on after explosions hit Liucheng county, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, September 30, 2015.

Chinese officials say that seventeen explosive devices, all contained within courier mail parcels, exploded throughout the city of Liuzhou leaving seven people dead.

Chinese national radio reported at least 50 people injured and two people missing.

The bombs began to explode around 3:30 p.m. local time and ended around 5 p.m.  The bombs targeted a variety of sites from supermarkets to a bus station to a hospital.  One of the explosions partially collapsed a building.

Police officials say a 33-year-old man identified as Wei is responsible for the attacks.  They claim he was angered over a “medical dispute” and that he wanted to “take revenge on society.”

Residents of the area reported 60 suspicious packages to police officials who are now determining if the parcels contain a bomb.
