The sister of Ahmed Mohamed, the teen boy invited to the White House by the President after a “clock” he built in a box was thought to be a bomb by a teacher, was suspended from the very same school three years ago because she made comments about blowing up the school.
Eyman Mohammed told the Daily Beast that she was suspended because a student reported she made comments about blowing up the school.
“I got suspended and I didn’t do anything about it and so when I heard about Ahmed, I was so mad because it happened to me and I didn’t get to stand up, so I’m making sure he’s standing up because it’s not right. So I’m not jealous, I’m kinda like—it’s like he’s standing for me,” Eyman told Daily Beast reporter Randy Potts.
The school district’s position is that while they “wish we could…provide more information to the media” they’re bound by confidentiality from giving details behind their actions.
