Greek voters chose Alexis Tsipras again.
An election was held, the second in eight months, for Greece to choose their Prime Minister. Tsipras is part of the Syriza party also known as the Coalition of the Radical Left, that was criticized after the recent austerity measures accepted by the government in order to get new bailout loans from the Eurozone.
Syriza took 35.5 percent of the vote versus 28.1 percent from the center-right New Democracy.
A professor of political science at Yale University told Bloomberg the electorate has chosen to return to power a party that “ditched its promises”. Stathis Kalyvas said the Greek government will now be called to implement a stringent set of fiscal and structural reforms.
